We recently completed a contemporary extension in Tidworth, transforming the property with a modern open-plan living space designed around light, comfort, and technology.
This 16-week project delivered a seamless blend of style and functionality. The extension features elegant five-panel aluminium-framed bifold doors (locally sourced), statement lantern-style roof lights, and a bespoke kitchen designed to suit modern family living. Inside, the client opted for high-end details including feature lighting, smart sockets, integrated ceiling speakers, and two discreet air conditioning units – all working together to create a home environment that is both comfortable and future-ready.
The property’s south-west facing garden provided an opportunity to maximise natural light and create a seamless flow between indoors and outdoors. While this orientation offers stunning afternoon and evening sun, it also demands the highest attention to detail, as every finish is highlighted by the light. The new patio and dog-friendly lawn complete the picture, offering an inviting space for relaxation and outdoor living.
The original house was built with a traditional brick outer skin and timber frame, and the new extension has been carefully tied into this structure to create a smooth, timeless finish. The result is a home that feels open, bright, and perfectly in tune with its surroundings.
At ED Builders, we take pride in delivering projects that not only add space but also enhance lifestyle. This build is a great example of how thoughtful design, locally sourced materials, and skilled craftsmanship can transform a property into something remarkable.
